New for 2020 - Virtual School Visits

I'm really missing interacting with schools! So here's a way to fix that, in a way that keeps everyone safe - virtual author visits. See below for what I can offer and get in touch if anything appeals.

Author Q&A (15 minutes) - £30 +VAT

Perfect if your pupils have questions about what it’s like to be an author, where I get my ideas from, who my favourite writers are, what makes me laugh, what my hoover is called (genuinely) or what my favourite aeroplane is (again, 100% genuine question)
Works best with an Author Presentation but if you need a sharp burst of inspiration when budgets and time are tight, then this might be the option for you.

Author Talk (30 minutes) - £50 +VAT

Discover how I became an author, what my top talent is and see some of the crazy things my dog has eaten over the years (photos of pants not included). This will be as interactive as I can make it and is guaranteed to get children giggling. Suitable for all Key Stages.

Author Talk and Writing Workshop (50 minutes) - £80 +VAT

As above, plus a writing workshop designed to kickstart your pupils’ imaginations:
Inside Tanglewood Animal Park – What if your parents bought a zoo? What would be your star attraction? This workshop encourages the children to choose a favourite animal and think about interesting ways to describe it, as well considering the animal’s habitat and needs. There will be a template for teachers to use after the session to encourage pupils to put their animal into a story.

OR

Completely Cassidy’s Talent Show – If you could choose a dream talent, what would it be? Would it be dancing, singing or even flying? What would you do with it? This workshop encourages the children to explore their dreams and imagine amazing things, while also encouraging them to consider what effect this might have on the world around them. There will be a template for teachers to use after the session to encourage pupils to put their talent into a story.
Suitable for KS1 and KS2 – adjusted for either.

Author Talk + Q&A + Writing Workshop (60 minutes) - £100 +VAT

Everything above – a talk, Q&A plus one writing workshop. Lots of fun and laughter and inspiration!

A booking also includes a phone chat to discuss your needs and make sure we all know what to expect. My preferred platform is Zoom (with an emailed link for you to follow, password and waiting room system) but I am happy to discuss other secure options if there’s something else you’re prefer to use. Obviously, I won’t be recording any sessions and wouldn’t expect you to either, for copyright reasons.
Sessions can be booked on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (Monday and Friday at a pinch), between 9am and 3pm. Payment is due on completion of the session – I’ll invoice you in advance to smooth this process out. I appreciate that plans can change fast in these uncertain times, so cancellations will be accepted with no charge up to 48 hours ahead of the agreed event. Less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a 50% charge, unless we can agree an alternative date.
